5e Character Sheet

Privacy Policy

Short version: your characters never leave your device, and we never know who you are. There is no account and no sign-up. The app sends a small amount of anonymous usage data so we can see which features people use, and it never tracks you across other apps or websites.

What we store

Everything you create — your characters, spells, inventory and journal — is saved only on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share a character yourself. We have no servers that hold your data and no way to see it.

What we collect

A small amount of anonymous usage data, and nothing that identifies you. When you use the app it sends short event messages — for example “app opened”, “character created”, “Pro screen shown” or “Pro purchased” — so we can understand how the app is used and whether the free and Pro tiers are working.

Each message carries a random ID made up by the app the first time it runs. That ID is not your Apple ID, your advertising ID or anything that can be traced back to you, and it is deleted when you delete the app. Alongside it we send the number of characters you have (never their contents), whether Pro is unlocked, and your app and iOS version.

We never collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or anything you type into a character or your journal. The data is not linked to your identity, not used for advertising, not sold, and not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

These events are processed by PostHog, an analytics provider, on servers in the European Union. PostHog processes the data only on our behalf.

If you email us

If you contact us through the in-app feedback links, you share whatever you write in that email. We use it only to reply and improve the app, and we don’t add you to any list.

Children

The app is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The anonymous usage data described above can’t identify who is using the app.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here. Last updated 19 September 2026, when anonymous usage analytics were added.
